LETS HEAR SOME RACING STORIES
LETS HEAR SOME RACING STORIES
OK GUYS HERES YOUR CHANCE TO POST SOME OF THOSE RACING STORIES THAT WE LOVE TO HEAR. TELL US ABOUT THE NIGHT YOU TOASTED A COBRA OR KILLED A RICE BURNER. LETS HAVE FUN AND SHARE OUR EXPERIENCES.
I REMEMBER THIS ONE NIGHT ABOUT THREE MONTHS AGO. I WAS DRIVING MY 83 CAMARO WITH THE BORED 305 AND 350TRANNY ON THE MAJOR HIGHWAY IN MY AREA HEADING TO THE BEACH. I WAS SITTING AT A LIGHT WHEN THIS NEW 4.6 LITER STANG PULLS UP. HE HAD EXHAUST WORK AND IT SOUNDED REALLY MEAN(I LATER FOUND OUT THE EXHAUST WORK WAS ALL HE HAD DONE) WELL HE ROLLS DOWN THE WINDOW AND REVS THE MOTOR. I LOOK OVER AND HE SAYS"SHOULD I LEAVE MY AC ON TO GIVE YOU A CHANCE?". I LOOKED OVER, LAUGHED AND LOOKED FORWARD. I GOT A HUGE WHOLESHOT ON HIM AND HE WAS STARING AT MY TAILIGHTS THE WHOLE RACE. AT THE NEXT LIGHT I LOOKED OVER AND ASKED HIM"WOULD YOU LIKE ME TO PULL OFF TWO OR THREE SPARK PLUG WIRES TO GIVE YOU A CHANCE!!!" HE WAS PISSED BUT IT WAS COOL ALL THE SAME.

Dam dude, this is sooo non-Tech. At least try disguising your topic.
Wish i had some kill stories in my T/A but i won't race it yet. U say you have an 84 305, is it LG4 or L69? Reason i won't race is b/c it's the LG4 and i need to get my mods done soon.

Okay,
Here's to the lowly 327, a motor which is quickly becoming a thing of the past - younger guys have never driven one, and that's a shame. 'Kinda like the old flathead Ferd motor, maybe not the best of all time, but literally MILLIONS of stories connected to these mills.
June 1999 at the Corvette Nationals in Bowling Green, KY.
Cat with a 1992 LT-1 vette that has $$$$$ mods including N2O. Can't get it to hook on street tires during eliminations, so he's hittin' the bottle at the 330' timer.
I jazzed all day and paying zippo attention to anybody else - I'm racing the clock. So, in my jazzed state, I line up next to this gomer (he and his wife BOTH were all mouth)......and proceed to cut an .004 light...got the slip to prove it.....and absolutely left him at the tree.
He FREAKS and hits the go button before the 60' lite....and his late model gets all over his lane. He gets it back under control (well, my brother said it was still smoking the tires), and makes a wild mid-track charge. (that gas is Gooood)
At about the 1000 ft. lite, he stops catching up, and I actually PULL the guy thru the 1320 lites. I got him by a length, with a 13.10 @ 107.66 ......with my N/A 327.
He ran a losing 12.99 @ 105 MPH.
Hmmm.....and he had a mondo-perfecto 350 with a 6 spd., rear gears, and Nitrous.
Gotta have a driver fellers.
NYA ah ah.
I'll skip the story of how I red-eyed in the final against a punk with a 15.10 dial-in.
Cost me a trophy in the Nats......
But there's always this coming June. I'll be there.
BOR
