Bad diode trio in the alternator if it fades on at low RPM and mostly fades out as Rs go up.

EXACT same problem as me. It's nice to know that I'm not alone in this world!
Does the needle on your battery guage drop every so often? I've been told it's the alternator, but the test said everything was alright. So far, the only fix I have is to turn up my stereo.

Sounds like your fuse. I have grounded the choke wire about 15 times and I have gotten a box of those damn things sitting in my console! The light will stay on and buzz. Like RB says, it will cut out the signal to the alt to tell it that the car is on, so your alt will not charge your car...

I removed the bulb today, hoping it would shut up, but no...
As far as the alternator, it seems to be charging as normal, around 13V...
It's annoying as anything...
EDIT: Fuse looks fine...
So, how do we all fix this?

When I had that problem, it was the choke relay "chattering"... I've tried to help him find the relay but he can't seem to find the convenience center. Is it in a different place than on my 84????

Alright, newest update...I just re-checked my alternator-fine, battery-a little low, but good, and the fuses-great. Now what? Bad ground? I know I've posted on this before, but it's really getting annoying. Where would I find the convenience center? Does it have the relays I need to find in it?

I had it idling in the driveway in park before...after I rev it, it seems to buzz at 1200 rpm's and then shuts up when it drops back down to it's normal park idle of 750rpm's...
Then I went for a ride - it really doesn't buzz in any "predictable" manner! This is driving me NUTS!
Stuart,
The "Convenience Center" (I wonder what the hell GM engineers would call "inconvenient") is located under the dash and behing the radio/heater controls.
Drop the lower trim panel in the driver's footwell are and twist yourself up and around like a pretzel until you can see the backside if the swing-out "Convenience Center". Depress the release tab and swing it down/forward so you can see the relays and chimes.
Incidentally, you probably won't see that two-wire brown cord on your car unless the RPO label has the 0UT code -
0UT - Driver convenience; Annoying Passenger Eject System (requires 'T' bar roof); Standard with custom interior.
