pics of the egr solenoid/vacuumstuff please
I really need some good pics of how the vacuum hoses go into egr solenoid. I pulled it all out a long time ago, and the hood doesn't have the diagram sticker. It looks like a 5/16" hose goes into the egr solenoid, and there alot of T-fittings. Anything from the plenum, out would be great. Thanks guys. shawn
URockNRoll,

The supply to the EGR solenoid is from the timed vacuum port on the underside of the throttle body. That supply line has a "T" which also feeds the EVAP canister solenoid. The other port on the EGR solenoid connects to the EGR valve pilot itself, and the port on the opposite end of the EGR solenoid (the one all by itself) is the atmospheric vent, that once had a foam "filter" cube stuck to it.

Should I mail you some self-adhesive decals for the underside of your hood? I'd need some PM with more specifics.

Vader --- (or someone else in the know...)
I'm trying to confirm I hooked up my EGR solenoid correctly when I did my 383 swap. The vac sol has 2 ports - which one goes to the EGR valve? Is the metal one for the valve and the non-metal port for the vacuum feed?
Just trying to make sure I did it correctly.....
Have a Great Day, and Thanks for your time!!!!

well, from what iv read from people who have posted which goes where the gray metal one goes to the throttle body as a vacuum feed, and the black plastic goes to the EGR itself.
i have not seen this for myself yet, but a little searching and thats what seems to be the right answer. im about to go check my egr system now.

Yes, look at Vader's picture, youll see the black hose and the grey hose. The black goes right to the EGR itself, the grey hose runs upfront under the plenum and to the throttle body, attaching to the throttle body with a "T" joint thing.
if your having problems witht he egr not working, the problem might be that the grey hose cracked, mine did. iv been failing NOx emissions and this is probably why.
does someone know the best way to repair a cracked vacuum hose? i was simply going to wrap electrical tape temperarily, possibly try super glue as long as none gets inside to clog it.

yes vader's pic helped out. As for the vaccum line, i would cut off the plastic at the crack, and put a piece of rubber "3/16" line in between. This is what i did when my throttle body plastic line crapped out. As a bonus you cana dd a little length to it, to allow you to pull the throttle body off, and unhook th line after it is unbolted.

THANKS!!!!
FWIW - Autozone and O'Reilly's both carry the small hard plastic vacuum lines. Pep Boyz probably does too.....
