remote solenoid question
Im a bit lost, i have the diagram on the instructions and i think i understand them. My question is, coming out of the firewall on my car are 3 pink or red wires, 2 of the wires lead into 1 which brings it to 2 wires. What wire is what?
Im installing a remote solenoid and it only lists 2 wires coming out of the firewall
the remote solenoid is a ford type solenoid. Do i have to run a wire from the remote solenoid to my ignition coil? Where is the wire that is on my coil, its a in cap coil. My car is HEI.
please take a look here: this is what im trying to do

ya but the 2 wires split into one, not 1 into 2
where would i hook the wire up to my ignition cap?
where is the ignition switch? I though i just had to hook the wires up coming through the firewall to the remote solenoid

Well, the ignition switch is on the steering column under the dash. Just curious here, what kind of car are you putting that in. Looking at that web site, those diagrams are for a 62 - 79 nova and a ford. If you are putting it in a 85 camaro, the wiring is different from what your schematic shows.

Also the diagram on the guys site is basically the exact same diagram the summit solenoid came with. Its going in my 85 z28
Does anyone have a diagram that shows how to hook it up on a camaro?

According to your first post, your car has the HEI ignition on it. According to the diagram I have seen on that website for it. That remote solenoid system will only work on a car with a NON-HEI igniton system.

Ignore the 'I' terminal on the remote solenoid.
Extend your two or three heavy red wires to the solenoid and attach them to the same large stud as the cable coming directly from your battery. From the opposite large stud, run a heavy cable (number 1 gauge or so) to the large stud on the solenoid on the starter itself, and a short jumper wire to the 'S' terminal on the starter's solenoid.
Last, extend the puple wire that originally went to the starter solenoid, and attach it to the 'S' terminal of the new remote solenoid.
You can kind of see the setup I have in my Formula next to the puke tank, and it obviously has HEI. http://www.hioutput.com/pete/Formula/engine1.jpg
Enjoy.
