Uh, guys... $300-$400 dollars. Headers hands down.
305, I have to disagree, more overlooked than gears has to be torque converters.

i got jewed outta a "corvette torque converter" by a damn Tranny shop around here....i paid for a 2500 stall vette tc, and got a 1900 stall stocker tc....wtf....by the time i realized it was a 1900 stall, it was too late....
worst part is , this is the time my tranny was replaced, got a reman...came with a brand new stock tc....so now i got two 1900 stalls...
anyone wanna buy one? lol
i still say gear swap....altho....parts alone will be 400 bucks....and unless you have the tools to install them yourself AND a lot of time to learn it as i did....uhm.....better be ready to fork out 200-400 peding on the shop

3.73 gears (5 speed) or 3.42 gears (auto) and headers. Just that will feel (notice I said feel) like a 50hp improvement.
