intake manifolds

I was wondering what intake manifold I should get, edelbrock performer manifold or holley tbi manifold? Im going to port the heads so Im going to port to match the intake manifold. As if I change the heads with 305 tpi heads with 1.6 roller rockers and new intake manifold do I new to get a new chip for tbi?

The performer is a stock replacement intake, it is not really much better then stock, and not worth the $ IMO.

Your intake is not what is holding you back, your peanut cam and heads are.

What do you have for exhaust?

Your intake is way down at the bottom of the list when it comes to power restrictions of an LO3

As MR leigh stated an intake should only be considered when you really need it (ie cam). The performer TBI intake is perfect as far as a true LO3 bolt on and isn't to bad. Even though there are better intakes out there it still follows the same desing as the carb version. The only restriction is the small bore size (this is where it gets a bad rap). This can be remidied though and can be bored to 2". When it comes time, reseach a nice carb intake with a TBI adapter plate. You get the best performance for your dollar that way.

Well you can fool around with the fuel pressure and timing to make the car run "good." But it you want it to run the way it should you need to burn some chips. Even after a full exhaust the tune on these cars needs to be adjusted.

87 thru 92 are a direct bolt on for any 3rd gen TBI car. Pre 87 are a bolt-on provided you switch intakes and change the valve trian a bit.
