What's the difference b/w 305 and 350 TPI?

305 tpi vs 350 tpi. Say they are both '89. Only diffenence I can think of is fuel injectors, and possibly different fuel pressure setting. So if I buy a 305 TPI, all that needs upgrading is fuel injectors and AFPR??? What about MAF? Anything I am missing?

are we talking about the intake itself?if you are the ONLY difference between the two intakes are the injectors.19lbs ofr the 305 and 22lbs for the 350.a 305 and a 350 TPI both run on the same fuel pressure.

No...I'm thinking of buying a 5 speed w/ 305...and would eventually slide something with more cubes in there. Wondering what might need upgrading in the induction department. I just want a manual real bad, and feel it's easier to buy a manual car than convert my current one to manual. plus it needs a lot of work (interior, a little body work, and it has 160K miles) still does low 14's with only exhaust upgrade.

The injectors are different, 19lbs vs 22lbs, the PROM is different (they dont make 350 5-speed PROMs so I had to use a 305 5-speed PROM until I started making my own), and the EGR valve and the knock sensor is possibly different. If you're looking for a 305 5-speed to buy, get one with dual cats (89-92). They are rated at 230 HP, compared to 205 HP for the single cat cars, and its definitely worth it. They also have better rear gears and almost always disc brakes.

Is it true (what I have read) that the 19 lb injectors actually work better on a 350 since they don't run as rich? OR At what point would these 19lb injectors become a restriction?

theyre both tpi....ummm i just wont **** anyone off. the injectors are about the only diff.

19lb 305
22lb 350

different programing for a 350 also i think just to deliver more fuel to the injectors. the 350 also has a little more intial timing than a 305.

off the subject the 350 cars usaually have deeper gears? i think.

350 TPI cars can have 2.77 or 3.27/3.23 gears.
305 TPI 5-speed cars can have 3.08's, 3.42's, or 3.45's. The 5-speed cars have deeper gears.

When you do the swap make sure you have the right knock sensor too. The 305 and 350's use differnt knock sensors......

The stock 305 injectors will work fine on the 350 with a adjustable fpr and around 50 psi fuel pressure.

IN reference to the knock sensors...are you sure this is true for an 88 or 89? I thought that was the case for 90-92. I could be wrong.
