Highest NA higpower//torque thirdgen?

I'm just looking around at everyone's information on horsepower and torque and I got interested in who is putting out the most in a third gen. I don't want to see a blower or turbo though. Just highpower engines. If you've seen a high power third gen but it's not yours post it and we'll see if we can find out whose it is. Also, give a list of all you've done.

Well, I don't have any RWHP numbers. Just engine dyno, Tq is the stongpoint. I know that there are others here that are more impressive!
In sig.

i always wondered if it was possible to make 1000hp out of an n/a sbc... ive heard of 600hp+ on 400+ cid sbc's... the engine buildoff thing from hotrod magazine i think it was had master engine builders getting almost 700hp from sbc's

1000hp, depends on cubic inches.

500 cid prostocks rev to about 9000 and make about 1300hp.
That is 2.6 hp per cubic inch. They are "maxxed" out, totally unstreetable, short-life race engines.

It would take a 386 cid small block of the same efficiency and revs to make 1000hp.

Keep in mind NHRA pro stock is the ultimate N/A V8, with the world's finest engine builders striving to make that much.

The best N/A 4-strokes car engines in the world make 930hp from 183 cid on pump equivalent gasoline. of course, they rev to 18-19,000 rpm and cost millions of dollars. Formula 1, 5.1 hp/cubic inch.

I think that Joe Sherman, who won the first engine masters challenge, made about 600 hp from a 365 cid Chevy and it was very streetable even though it was only a dyno test.

For 66.6% more horsepower, you would need 66.6% more displacement at the same efficiency, or about 608 cubic inches.
You're looking at an aftermarket casting big block here.

i saw a recent mod for Z06 vettes, i dont remember the name of the guy doing it, but he only did it to 50 vettes. but he put a streetable version of the genIII LS6 engine w/ 427cid and it made almost 600hp w/ stock LS1 heads and cam. if he had some good heads and a nice grind, those motors could put out probably close to 800-900hp
