engine identity

i need to find some info on my engine. i recently bought a 350 bare block, the casting # is 3970010. what i need to know is can i put hydraulic roller lifters in this engine or not. i want to make this motor a roller motor. is it possible or not?

You would need a retro-fit roller setup, but yes it's possible.

That is probably the single most famous 350 casting in the world. Thats what I have, and many others here. Did you check to see if yours is a 2 or 4 bolt?

mine is a 4 bolt main. how much is the retro kit to make this into a roller block or what specific parts woudl i need. this is my first engine build and im trying to gather as much info on it before i screw something up and it becomes costly. plus im kinda broke so its a good time to do research. im thinking about tpi for induction.

i have used search and when i sit here for an hour or 2 or 3 or 4, i get rather tired of searching for something, and so i write up a topic and hopefully someone will just give me the answer rather than wasting my time.

If you spent 30 minutes on each question and really did use search, you'd have your answer.
