Quick intake help please...

I just got my Accel intake and it has 3 large threaded holes on the front of it. I know the 2 toward the center are for the coolant and the temp sensor but what is the 3rd one off toward the passenger side for?????? I don't remember that being there on my stock intake?

Thanks!

I have the same intake. For our cars it is not needed, so just plug it.

The third one is the cold start injector sensor. Only needed for 85-88 applications. If the temp is under a certain temp (don't remember what it is), then this sensor tells the cold start injector to fire on startup. Not needed on '89-up cars..

Sorry, I wasn't talking about the cold start. This was another threaded hole that opened into the coolant passage in the front of the intake...

I'm not really sure what they are, but I just checked on mine ('86 TPI) and the top one is coolant hose and the bottom two are both sensors. I bet Clocker is right, you probably just need to plug one if your wiring harness doesn't have a hookup for it.

Yup I used a 3/8" hex head stainless plug for it. I used thread lock and threaed in until it was flush. Look great....

Exactly.. :lala:

Its the sensor that tells the cold start injector (located on the intake manifold, plugged into the fuel rail and the wiring harness) to fire for a maximum of 8 seconds if it detects a coolant temperature of under 100*F (researched it after my first post).

'89-up cars do not have this, nor do they have the CSI on the intake manifold nor the wiring plug or fuel line for it. In the '89-up cars, they use a longer injector PW for cold starts.

I feel like a dumbass, I didn't even see the last half of your post mentioning the temp sensor. All I saw was cold start injector

I'm sorry dude...
