Does anybody out there in 3rd gen land know the specs or the part # of the cam used in 83 LG4?

Wow, that is tiny. So its the same as 1986 (LB9)

Those are both exhaust lobes you show yourself measuring in your pics.
But you're right, the L03 cam uses exactly the same profile as teh older LG4; it should measure about .266" on the lobe (that would be the difference between what you show the caliper on, and the measurement across the sides); which is .385". May measure a scosh lower than that exact # due to wear, of course. That was one of the factory's ultimate stupidities: they didn't seem to realize that they could improve their cam profiles by using rollers, instead they just copied over the same weak garbage from flat-tappet cores to roller cores.
