car smokin

alright, just put some new heads on the car but it smokes now where it didn't before. Heads were warped, so they were replaced but now the car smokes. After i got the heads on, it started right up but it looked like cheech and chong going down the road. But now, it wont smoke until it warms up a little bit. It's fine for about a minute or two, then it starts up smoking. It doesn't smoke near the amount it did when i first got the heads back on and started it... WTF?

Is it smoke or steam? If it's steam you need a head gasket.

definatly need to know the color
Black = fuel
Blue = oil
White= steam, water burning.

If its white, before you drive it any more, check your oil.

forgot to mention color... its white. Since when was burning oil blue? i thought it was white. I let it run for 30 minutes and had to put more oil in it. It lost about half a quart while it ran. Ive run it since then and it still loses oil, but more slowyl.

What color is your oil? does it look like a milkshake, foamy and light brown in color.

BTW. If your burning oil it's a white/blueish color. Fuel is black. If it's white billowy smoke, like yours seems to be, it's steam and you need a new head gasket.

Just because its new doesn't mean it was installed properly.

Check your coolant as well to see if oil mixed in since you said its using oil as well.

blue is definately oil. White is steam, or burning coolant. Check your coolant and feel for oil. My guess is, if the oil looks OK, but you are blowing white smoke and loosing oil. You have oil in the water. You are probably getting some water in the oil too, you just havent been able to notice it yet.
