Forget the timing. The ECM has no way of knowing what it was. If it's set right and the bolt is tightened, then it's right, and will stay right, until the next time somebody sticks their fingers in there where they don't belong.

12 = your engine wasn't running at the time; there's nothing wrong there.

13 = O2 reading shows lean (ECM can't richen it up as much as it thinks it should be able to)

44 = O2 sensor lean

36 = MAF burn-off cycle

Leave the timing alone; and change the O2 sensor; clear all the codes, and go from there.

with an easy search of "codes" you would have easily found this

https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...ighlight=codes

which easily answers 2 of those codes

also same codes

https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...ighlight=codes

code 44

https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...ighlight=codes

the topic acually says codes 44 in it so thats proving you didnt search

this ones titled "codes 13 & 44"

https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...ighlight=codes

you dont need to make a thread everytime you have to say somthing use the button

why do i even watse my 3 mins for this

Exactly...why bother? Thats what he wants us to do. Hes too dam lazy to do it himself. Tells us he cant work on his car at night because its dark but yet wont buy a 6 dollar light so he can see. I think we should all just ignore him until he smartens up. He doesnt take anyones advice much and posts about things he can easily find out for himself. He comes on here like this is his personal IM service and expects everyone to jump for him.

"hey guys, come on guys, guess what guys, please help guys, guys come on I really need help this time, guys guys guys guys guys guys guys, d0ods, d0ods, do0ds....."

Sound familiar?

do as the captain says or THEGENERAL will have to post a flag on you ...oops i already did.....LOL

why dont you before you start a thread just like PhAnToMs said it would save every one else the trouble of having to do it for you we are getting tired of comming in here to hold your hand ...you obviously know how to use a compter ..... we know you do ..... you start a new thread every day atleast......

now use this new fangled contraption and figure out whats wrong with your car ......youve finally pulled the codes after we have told you to do so for what 3 days now

go buy a hanes or chiltons manual as captain said to do and believe us the answers will be in their were not lying to you d00d...

and did you ever check the engine mounts properly ?

how about the ujoints ?

do some more trouble shooting before it gets dark and you cant go outside ..

I think you should have stuck with your first hobby...playing with your rc cars. At least your stepdad wouldnt be trying to rent you his rc for the winter and you wouldnt have to worry about timing or vibrations.

Jeeze...

Why the hostility? Informing someone they should use the search button doesn't give you the right to bash them at the same time.

Plus you gotta realize the codes only tell you what's wrong. They don't tell you WHAT to fix, WHAT'S causing the code, NOR where to find these thing.

therckid,

There's also a list of codes and they're meanings on the home page www.thirdgen.org

On the left side, click on FAQ's, then look all the way toward the bottom of that page. It's the second to last question.

Bull....they dont tell you what to fix? Come on. If you get a code for 02 sensor then most likely it needs to be replaced or something associated with it does. Its a no brainer for most people. Besides he asked what the codes meant, not asking how to fix them. There were and are plenty of ways to find out how to decipher what the codes mean. He's just to dam lazy. Maybe you should go back and read some of his 2 thousand posts and see why we get pissed instead of shooting your mouth off.

He's not a new guy asking a genuine question about his codes cuz if he was we would be glad to help him. Then we would tell him about the search button, welcome him to the boards and suggest buying a manual and he would say thankyou and not ask so many absurd and stupid questions...If my response bothers you then you can join Shanes "Why does everyone get so pissed off at me" club. He could use another member. It's lonely at the top you know?

well took out my tranny mount and its fine, no cracks, i meant before thats the rubber part has some minor cracks before.

The motor mounts didn't budge while even the rpms were at a high. I had my dad rev it up while i was under it and still nothing.

I checked all vacuum lines today, a couple were dry rotted at the ends so i cut them off and refitted them. But when i disconnected even after the car being off for an hour there was still a lot of vacuum to release. so i'm pretty sure theres no vacuume leak.

I took the tranny plate off and started the car and no movement or noises coming from the flexplate or torque converter at all,

So now is time to tune the ignition, maybe even a fuel filter.

oh and what scares me is this, code 36 means a lot of things.

36. Burn off at mass air flow sensor OR
Problem in transmission shift OR
Fault in direct ignition system OR
Missing pulses in electronic spark timing signal

So hmmmmm i think my ignition is bad.

what should i replace plugs are already new, weires thats definately, and, cap and rotor, duh!!!!!

but other then that it means mssing pules in electronic spark timing signal, whats that man?

fixed it guys, i pulled apart my current cap and rotor and cleaned everything off with soda/wd-40 and then reapplied electrical connection grease.

Now there is still a little spark missing from the driving but it is almost fully fixed.

This weekend i'm off to autozone to buiy a new cap and rotor.

But my power is back and the vibration is gone and everything.

Thanks for your help guys, i realy appreciate it, and as of this weekend i'll go buy myself some books. I dont care how muhc they are i just need something. This prolly could have been avoided.

The power still surges but i feel its fixable with new wires and cap and rotor, vibration is gona tho guys.

WOOHOOOO!!!!!!!

1. hmm i think i told at least once if not more to do a full tune up!!!

2. its about time and if you have to have your dad or someone read them to you.

3. this could have definatly been avoided!!!!

now dont you feel silly that if you would have taken the advise of more than one person on here and done a complete tune up that this would have been fixed the first day and not been dragging on and on and on thru what 3 threads ?

go get those books young one and read read read ...

glad you fixed it but from now on take the advise given and use it wisely

< ----- Still watching Shane. The books are the first step and one in the right direction.

AJ He's had at least a dozen threads locked in the last week and at least two totally deleted last night that I know of. He's running at a 90+% lock rate. We're somewhat bashing, somewhat pushing him. He knows the why and whatfor. Defend him when he asks for the help.

I'm not defending anyone. I'm not an attorney.

Just because people are getting frustrated with him (or anyone for that matter) doesn't give anyone the right to be so hostile. If it's really that bad just ignore him and/or his posts. Or simply post once and forget it. Don't let him get on your nerves.

Hostility achieves nothing except making the person(s) being hostile look bad.

Be the bigger man.

Just my 2¢
