even with a blown head gasket the engine will usually run strong for a while and the only sign of a problem will be the milky oil and smoke out the back

I can almost garantee its the head gasket. Make sure its put on the right direction, it should say on the gasket itself which side is the front and which side goes up. If not that then the heads may not be torque down tight enough, or if worst comes to worst a cracked block or heads.

Do a leak down/compression test.

where to look?
ok i changed the oil today and today the car is acting differently,
not to much smoke but sprays a little water and seems to be running rough now (just at idle im not driving it anywhere) so is my next step pulling the intake?also is the factory oil cooler worth having on there i have a oil leak where it mounts on the block and was thinking about removing it.

Your next step would be pulling the plugs to see if any cylinders are spitting out water. Pull all the plugs at the same time then turn the engine over to watch for any water shooting out. If there is, time to pull the intake and the heads. Don't start the engine up any more.

Unless it's like a heat exchanger, an external oil cooler is a seperate device that works on the same heat transfer theory as a radiator.

the oil cooler is the factory onewith the two lines running right above the oil filter,i doubt it has any thing to do with the coolant in oil problem. i was just wondering because when i tear everything down i might eliminate it because it leaks. oh and thanks for the help everyone, hopfully in the next two weeks i can find the time to start heads, cam, intake swap
if the car was running fine right before the TB install, then an hour later (after install) its doing all this crap you describe.....i would be suspecting the TB. (Assuming its TPI here) Did you do the TB coolant bypass or are you still circulating the coolant through the TB? Theoretically, there could have been a machining/casting problem and coolant could be getting into the motor that way.
Something to look into i guess.
It would be a huge coincidence if "after my TB Install" the car starting doing all that crap.

Going backwards, what EXACTLY did you touch when you did the TB swap?
It IS a possibility that the 2 things are completely non-related (i.e the coolant burning and the TB swap).

stekman im almost 100% certain they are not related the thread has changed from not knowing what was going on to pretty much knowing its a head gasket.i have seen other post where white smoke has been an injector not working properly to running lean
so i just wanted some other opinions....on what i touched when changing the TB nothing that would fill a cylinder with water for sure....lol ,hey like i said before it was only a matter of time for the
swap,i have everything in my shed waiting to go in,just need the time to do it
