Grinding noise...
I was driving my 91 camaro with a 350 tpi around the other night and it was driving fine and everything, ran great. I come home, park, shut off the car go inside, come back out to leave I back out of my driveway, put it in drive and it starts making a grinding sound that was almost like something was dragging? but I looked under the car and nothing was dragging, it only does this in drive, wasnt making the noise when i was backing up. Ne ideas what this is? transmission?

I had a bad wheel bearing make a horrible grinding sound when I backed up. Need to check all moving parts and around them to make sure nothing is caught up. I would have someone stand near the car when you back to help locate the noise.

does it make the grinding noise when the car is in park and being revved (lightly)? Does it do it when in drive and the car is at a complete stop? What about when the car is in drive, at a complete stop but being revved (power braking... dont test the limits here lol, can fry your tranny and rear)?
Will it do it while it's in reverse but at a complete stop? What about in reverse, complete stop but being revved? What about Reverse going 5mph? What about in drive going 5mph? When does the noise go away?
Need a lot more information before I can make an informed decision.

it only does it while im going forward in drive, doesn't do it when im just sitting there in drive, or at all in reverse.

when it is going forward only you say. And not when you're power braking? That leads me to believe that something probably IS dragging, and it is probably the driveshaft. You should get a friend, or if you have no friends, have a family member watch under your car (but not be under the car) while you SLOWLY drive off so that they can see if anything is dragging, and if so, the general location.

The advice is good, dont worry... wouldnt do anything to hurt a fellow thirdgenner.
But really, when it sounds like something's dragging, that's normally a good indication that it is.
