Where is the TPS sensor located?

Hey Guys, where is the TPS sensor located on a 89 5.7 GTA? And is it expensive?
Thanks
Mike

Its screwed onto the passengers side of the throttle body and has a three wire connector plugged into it. Not sure how much they are. Used to know but I forgot. Just go to the dealer and find out. Shouldn't be more that $15 for a new Delco piece. Don't get a cheapo brand. AC Delco makes the highest quality sensors for our cars. I learned that the hard way.

Thanks Irocbsa. My car just turned 100000 miles on it, and I am changing sensors etc.. just for peace of mind. I don't know if any of these sensors etc... were ever changed. And most of them aren't too expensive. I am going to change the o2 sensor next also.
Thanks again.

make sure when you put the new sensor on you set it back to factory specs(.54Vdc) with a digital voltage meter. 89s had an adjustable tps right??

also i would never buy parts from the dealer, they overcharge, just get the ACDelco part at any parts store.

Hi Ron, thanks. But how do I set that TPS Sensor voltage to factory specs with a meter?? And how do i know if mine is adjustable? It just looks like it has two screws and plugs in.
Thanks
Mike

The holes are elongated on a radius so you can rotate the TPS.

You adjust the TPS by loosening the screws, and installing jumper wires between the connector's 3 connections. Then you measure the voltage on the A and B wires while you turn the TPS. When the voltage reads 0.54, carefully tighten the screws. Then check the voltage again (tightening the screws may move it a bit).

Thanks JZA! I think I can handle that. Do I jump just the two outer wires, will they be marked a & b? I know you said there were three wires, so I was just wondering how to jump three.
Thanks man!

You just have to jumper the upper 2 wires.
