What is this? relay? transistor?
I have a 92 camaro TPI 350 B4C and I found this under the hood mounted in back of the left side (pass) headlight, right where the battery is there were three wires hooked two it, one fell off from all the rust and two were still connected to it.
inside i can see a coil of wire thats why i thought it would be a relay but I didnt think they made them like this anymore?
any help identifying this piece of junk lOL would be great, I just bought the car from someone who raced it locally so hes done a couple of mod sto it and didnt know if this was one of them
thanks
tim

Circut breaker used for some high amperage things like rear defrost.
That is in rough shape. Was it in the fuse block or duct taped on to the engine or something?

It would be earier to identify if you trace where the wires go to.
The only things I've found in that location are relays, fuse holders, and terminal junction blocks.

I am unable to view the attachment you have but what you are describing sounds like a power distribution junction block that was on some models. Does it look like the items circled here.

its not the junction block, this is a rectangular "box" made from some metal that has three connectors, one of which rusted off and so ican see inside it and it has a wire coil in the middle of it...
i just looked and saw that there was one black wire coming from the harness in back of the headlight and connecting to it, and one red wire coming from the fan harness (with a couple of other wires) with a big black tee connector with PED stamped on it teeing them off to go towards the battery area...
could this have been a makeshift auxialliary fan relay, it looked like the yellow wire coming from the pass side temp sensor was routed to it too?
where should the factory aux fan relay be?
thanks for the help so far
