Hood clearance, 86 TA, Air Gap
I am thinking of replacing my Edelbrock Torker intake, but I have an Edelbrock Performer RPM Air Gap sitting on a shelf in my garage. I have a HO Dual Snorkel aircleaner from a Camaro.
I think the Air Gap is higher than the Torker.
My car is an 86 TA with OEM hood. Will it fit under my hood or cant I use the HO Aircleaner with the Air Gap and OEM Hood?
Thanks, Jon H.

It will fit under the hood of a Camaro with a drop base and 3 inch tall air filter. I have heard that the TA has less room under the hood so I don't know that this helps. Also, an RPM Air Gap is 15/16 ths of an inch taller than a regular Performer intake. Once again, I don't know how your intake compares to that. Another usefull peice of info is that I thought that the drop base filter might be a restriction and it isn't at all. When I dynoed my car a couple weeks ago I removed the air filter on the second run and lost 1 hp, that is with a K&N so I guess they really do help too.

Thanks, I sure hope it will fit because I really like the look of the dual snorkel aircleaner and its alwais better to use cool air than hot.
