high oil pressure

recently when i leave in the morning the oil pressure is high (about 60). After about 20 minutes it goes back to the normal mode. Between 10-40.

Thanks

welcome to thirdgen.org, i'm not sure you have a problem, it may be related to lower morning temps and thicker oil, an inaccurate gauge, and it may actually be 60 psi when you start it. i don't think i'd worry about it, it seem pretty normal to me.

That is exactly what mine does......over 60psi cold and 15psi warm at idle.

Mine does the same thing on 15W40 synthetic. After the engine gets fully warmed, the pressure drops to about 40-45 at idle.

When I 1st start mine and drive it, it is 60.

When it warms up its 30 at idle and about 45-55 @2000 RPM

Yea mine is about the needle's thickness above the 60 mark in the morning. Then it goes back down to the middle or so. The the valvetrain noise and false knock begins! Grr

I get just under 75 lbs on a cold start then, once it's warm, 50-55 at idle. I don't think I'd worry about 60 psi, just be happy it's not 6 psi.
