Stock 350 - Looking do do a few mods - any suggestions?

My car has a stock 1988 350. She has over 145,000 miles and starting to run rough and has lost some power. I'm looking to spend between 2000-3000 dollars to fix it up. Any suggestions on what to do to it? I dont just want to fix it up, I would like to increase the power of the car beyond what a stock engine will produce.

Thanks

Jacob

And more Civic's then I can count. Why do they even bother?

$2000-3000?

For thatprice you could rebuild your 350. And with that much money, you wouldn't have to rebuild it with stock L98 parts (I'm assuming its an L98becaue you said 350, although that isnot necessarily true) but rather, good highperformance parts. Good pistons, rods, nice cam.... get decent heads and port and polish them. While your at it, get a set of headers in there while the motor is out (if u dont already have them) and a good exhaust. If you have TPI, I would spend theleft over money upgrading some TPI components.

In short, if you are gonna do the labor yourself, with $2000-$3000, you can do a lot!

The engine is an L98.

Unfortunatly, I wont be doing the work myself. :-( With the hours I work, it's impossible. Does anyone have suggestions on what brand/type of pistons, rods, cam, ignition system...etc..

I'd be intrested to see what vader thinks. My mechanic can do the work but you all know what works best in the L98.

Thanks!!!

dude get some performance valve spring and get the biggest high lift cam u can find well that is reasonable for ur street mods, then get some flat tops and some headers and some sweet exhaust set up. make that ground rumble and smoke those tires to high he!!
u will shake the ground and when u pull u p to car at a stop light they will definitely look cuz of the sweet sound from teh cam

Why not just buy a crate engine, plus they come with warranties, at least mine did. Then again I'm not sure how well your TPI would work with it. Because by the time you pay for labor I would think you could get more out of a crate motor.
