SLP cat back
SLP cat back
anyone have the SLP catback. is it loud?
they offer one for my 89 dual cats, but it is double the price of the Dynomax.
but it is also 3" compared to 2.5".
but the muffler I think is way louder??

I have the SLP on my GTA, i LOVE it! Its not loud at idle, actually its pretty quiet at idle, which i like. Sitting at a light more people are willing to race you when u have a quiet exhaust
Once you go WOT or really give it gas its pretty loud, of course there are louder systems out there, but this has a nice deep mellow tone. I'm VERY happy with mine

I also have the SLP exhaust on my '90 formula which has dual cats. I've had it for about six years and I have no problems with. I think it sounds great, but I guess that varies from person to person. Mine is somewhat louder at idle and much louder when I'm on it. The SLP is made of stainless steel, so it won't rot away like most other exhausts. It takes a little while for it to break in, so when you first install it, it doesn't sound much louder...but give it some time.

does the 3" pipe fit under there no problem?? it connects to a 2.5" pipe from the dual cats, so I'm assuming it has some sort of an adapter?
I'm already set on the dynomax, but I like the idea of the 3" pipe on the SLP system. The Dynomax is 2.5" like stock.

Like tony said(fly89gta) it is quiet at idle and sounds throaty when you open it up. I had to make a sleeve from a 2.75 pipe to make the intermediate pipe work. The I-pipe is swedged(the term they use) down to 2 8/10ths and my cat(N10 option) outlet was 2 6/10ths so i just got a pipe to take up the room. Later Derrick
