ANSWER QUESTION DAMMIT

I have a 91 305 tbi firebird i had a roller rocker cam and i changed it to a 194/214 at .05 i put headers on and a new intake. it was a edelbrock intake cam combo. The headers are pacesetter and i have no cat and i have a hypertech chip.ASK IF U NEED MORE INFO. IM TIRED OF DRIVING MY CAR THAT IS RUNNING HALF ASSED. I have the timming advanced 8 degrees and i have my fuel regulator maxed out. the car has a kinnda sputter when i pound on it and i winds up slow NO TORQUE it backfires through the tbi every once and awhile kinnda often. I got on it hard for a 50 yard shot i was in first its a (auto)and i stoped at the next stop sign and it died. I go to school on a 300 yard hill and it hits about 70 and runs about 3 grand and it almost stops accelerating and if it does accelerate it stays at 3,000. It doesnt want to wind rpms like the car did before the mods. PLEASE HELP ME MY CAR HASNT RAN RIGHT FOR A LONG TIME. IF U CANT HELP GET SOMEONE THAT CAN PLEASE.

sounds like a vacuum leak to me. your timing sounds fine, but spray some carb cleaner around the intake and throttle body with the engine running and if the rpms jump then you need to reseal the part with the vacuum leak. Vacuum leaks are very frustrating, but easily cured, unless you have warped parts. Good luck

Take off each spark plug wire to make sure it hasn't been laying on a header and burnt thru. This has happened to me 3 times and I just finally learned the wonders of wire looms, plus I bought heat protective sleeving.

Well, I think I found your first problem. Next, it sounds like you are running a little rich with that regulator maxed out. What gears are you running? Torque convertor? That isn't really a big cam, so it shouldn't be a real deal breaker... LSA and lift on that cam? Your hypercrap chip may have a big impact on things too, but I'm not a TBI expert.

What do you mean your regulator is maxed out? I've never heard that before. You didn't mess with it did you? There is nothing you can do to a tbi regulator.

I thought the edelbrock TBI intake/cam combo was for trucks. Using a flat tappet cam instead of roller cam. Did you toss your roller stuff and replace with flat tappet? Did you break the flat tappet cam in for 30 min at 3k rpm before driving?

I'm pretty sure I know what's wrong, very easy to fix if this is the case.

Start begging, dumbass.

You can make it adjustable. There's a tech article on how to do it. Not that it really does any good anyway...the chip has the last say.

What 91firebirdforsure needs for sure is to switch over to carb. He'll be a happy camper if he does.

I had a similar problem. I couldnt pull past three grand, it sputtered when I florred it. In my situation it was a clogged cat. Take off the airfilter and rev that sucker up. If it sputters out of the tbi, check your cat. The rest of you are a bunch of women(no offense to any fine young ladies out there). Are you really bothered by the way he words it or types it? Lots of help ladies! Good luck bro. Dont give up because when you fix it you'll love it again.
