I need help Fast!!!
I just came bck from college and my car has been sitting for three weeks in the garage, and has been out of commision with a broken MAF sensor. I was running very poorly, and a loud clickin sound was being made. Now that i am back, i replaced the MAF, and thought my probs were over. Think again, now it sputters when i begin to accelerate, and the voltage id fluxuating, also the loud clickin sound. What could that possibly be? Also, the check engine light goes on and off every couple minutes. PLease help me!!

the clicking could be a knocking of the main or rod bearings, or a lifter, or a bent/broken pushrod...
if it running like sh*t, I would say its more likely a pushrod.
next time u fire it up, get under the hood and put your hands on the valve covers, and if it is a broken pushrod, you should be able to feel the rocker smacking the valve covers, which would be making the noise.

Leslie...You cruise woodward much? I'm from SE mich when I'm not at college and am often on woodward.
The bent pushrod theory doesn't explain the voltage fluctuation. I'd bet the clicking noise is something electronic due to the fluctuation and check engine light.
Hard to tell w/o hearing it tho.

I reinstalled the MAF, and got hte check engine light to go off, and the engine runs a lot better. It doenst sputter anymore, but hte clickin is still there. I checked y feelin the valvr covers, but nothing hittin it underneath, cant seem to tell where the sound is comin from, seems around the front of the engine thouhg, around all the belts, and the throttle. If u know what might be wrong, please let me know.
