RUn the ODOMETER forward??

I don't want to roll it back. I just got my state inspection and the DMV has it recorded as 104,615.2. But I have a broke speedo.

So I bought a new 145 MPH speedo off of ebay. It reads 65,454.6. How do I run it forward? I just want to set it to the same as the other. Or can i take out the odometer parts, without messing up my needle??

It's easier just to move the odometer from one to the other.

You may burn the drme up before you get close.

Might be worth a trip to an Auto-Electric shop and have them set it for you.

Yea that works great. I use a drill to reset my speedo's when I install a new engine. Of course iplan on keeping my cars so it's not a serioius crime

i had the same problem, but with a little looking around at the 145 speedo, it's not that hard to slightly take apart, and then you can manually roll each number to the right place, and doesn't take 43 hours to turn that many turns ;-)

the way i did mine was connecting a small motor to the speedo cable running to the transmission and let it be for a time
worked fine, and nothing broken .
the motor was a small electricall motor with a 9 volt battery.
hope it helps
