Wow man 10 minute job into hours

I never knew chaning this fuel filter on my car would be such a bit of work. The bolts are rounded off on the fuel lines so I have to use vice grips and a wrench. I lubed it up and let it sit and I finally got the side off going to the tank. I cannot get the other side off. I sprayed it and I am going to let it sit overnight. Do you think it will break loose in the morning? What are some other tricks? Thanks guys.

a torch....and i'm kidding.

honestly they're always a pain, once you get them to finally break loose, put some never-seize on the threads to make next time around much much easier. remember that you can put all the pressure you want on the fuel filter's threads, because those being rounded off will be replaced by a new fuel filter, just don't kink the fuel line while attempting it. They always end up rounding off after a few years of road grime/salt anyways.

Oh yea....use never seize x2 so it doesn't happen again

If you do break the line there is a kit you can buy from napa to fix it.

Yeah once the line started to flex, I didnt apply as much torque. Also its the nuts on the fuel line that are rounding off so it sucks bad.

Since the nut is rounded off, you might try holding the other nut with your vise grips and get something to turn the filter, instead of trying to turn the nut.

yup i twisted the line it kinked it and broke it in half finnally. It was much easier making a new section that goes to the filter. From the filter to the engine that line remained the same. My car i did it in under 15 mins on my gf's car it was 2 days replacing the filter.

Also what is so funny how rusted this car is. I kinked the brake line going to the wheel cylinders and now yesterday replacing the radiator it kinked the transmission cooler line. All this **** has delayed me so much from just fixing it and getting it on the road. Oh well

WD-40 is baby stuff, years of messing with imports in limited room to use my fat hands (an tools), I found that ATF +3 in a metal spray bottle works MUCH faster and better.
