Cross Fires are very sensitive to low fuel press.
Check fuel press.
The fuel filter is supposed to be replaced every 30K miles, but most people don't.
Remove fuel filter and try to blow thru it (after you drain the gas out of it). You should be able to blow thru it with no restriction at all.

Technically, they're throttle boddies.
And they run off the same fuel pressure. Check them both at the inlet to each throttle body.
Also, check the timing.

it is a 83 2.8 with a 2bl carb. I dont think that i have a fuel filter anywhere other than directly in the carb.
