Victor Jr. or Performer RPM Air Gap

I've asked this question before, but since then I've installed 3.73 gears and a 3200 stall converter. Which of these two manifolds would net me the better ET? My setup is in the sig. Thanks.

I have a similar setup and just switched from an Air Gap to a Vic Jr. I just made the switch and ran a tad faster with a more conservative tune with the open plenum intake. I think it will go a few tenths faster yet though.

Thanks for the quick reply. What setup are you running? What kind of converter/gears?

11:0, 406cid, AFR 195, 236/242 Solid Roller, Vic. Jr., 750 DP, th350, 4200 JW converter, 3.73, 235/60/15 ET Street Radials.

Ran 11.979 @ 113.4 on the first shakedown pass with only 34* timing and shifting a 6k. Its been raining like crazy here so our race weekend was postponed.

Ran pretty much the same thing (similar DA) on the old combo (see sig) but I think there is more left in it. What do you run?

I've only run mine once, but it was with a bad trans. The 2-3 shift took a good second or so to happen (slipped REALLY bad). I only ran a 13.1 at 104 MPH with the same setup I have in the sig, but I only had a 2600 stall converter, the bad trans of course, and the Victor Jr. The 60' was just over 2 seconds, but I would think the 3200 RPM converter I have in there now would help a lot with that. I'm just not sure if I should swap the intake back to the Victor Jr, since I have the Performer RPM now.

How high do you rev the motor? What tires do you use?

I had a generic 3500 converter in there before and went low 1.7s on 26x10.5 ET Streets. I went 1.69 on the new converter and radials. I'd run the car with the dual plane and then maybe try it again after with the Vic Jr. Just make sure to record the weather conditions so you can compare runs corrected for density altitude. I am going to pull my intake off this weekend to gasket match it.

I've got the same tires as you. I usually shift around 6200-6300. Was that 1.7 with the Vic Jr or the Performer RPM?

Best of 1.71 with the 3500 stall, 26" ET Streets, and RPM Air-Gap

First pass with the 4200 converter, 235.60 ET Street Raditals, and Vic Jr. was a 1.69.

Did you notice a particular RPM level where the Vic Jr overpowered the RPM?

Its pretty hard to tell as I have hardly ran the car on the new setup. I am going to tune on the chasis dyno again but it will be hard to tell with a different converter eating up different (and an unknown) amount of power.

The car doesn't seem to be down any on torque but with 500+ ft-lbs its hard to notice a few ft-lbs missing at the bottom of the curve, especially if they are below the converter stall speed.
