HELP! My engine turns, But NO SPARK!!!!
I was driving home and my camaro just died, I was not able to restart it again. It has been 2 days now, I have no spark. So I changed the Coil and the ignition module. Also I went ahead and changed the cap and rotor. I have no mods on the engine. Just a plain 305 TPI 1991. Can somebody guide me in the right direction. Thanks

lets start with the basics.
are you sure it has no spark?
does the motor sound normal when you crank it over?
does the rotor in the distributor turn when you crank the motor?
check for power at the ignition coil, unplug the primary wiring at the ignition coil & then turn the key on, with one end of a test light hooked to a good ground probe the big pink wire, the test light should come on. if it doesn't you will need to start checking for power problems, i.e., bulkhead connector, fuse links, ignition switch & so on.
if you do have power getting to the coil, set the test light so 1 end is hooked up to the white wire coming off the coil & the other end is hooked to battery positive, have the test light so you can see it & then crank the motor over, the light should flash, if it does you have something wrong with your ignition coil, if not you have problems else where which could be the pickup coil or a bad module.

I just checked the voltage on the big pink wire that goes to the pick up coil. and I do get 12V. Im thinking I might have bad plugs, i might just changed them since I havent done a tune up on the car for a while.

You shouldn't have any voltage going to the pick up coil, it produces it's own voltage, and nowhere near 12V (I think). With a new coil and module, and assuming the spark plugs are good, I would suspect the pick up coil. So, start there if your plugs are good. Someone probably knows the nominal resistance value of the pick up.

DLV555 is right, you won't see 12 volts on the pickup coil, i think you meant the ignition coil.
to check the pickup coil, unplug it from the module & check its resistance, it should be around 800 ~ 1500 ohms.
if you have someone to help you, with everything properly hooked up, unplug the wire from the coil that goes from the ignition coil to the distributor, then have your helper crank the motor over & watch the ignition coil to see if if fires down the side of the coil tower to the laminations on the coil. if it does then you do have fire. if so then the next thing to check is to see if you
have fire getting to the plugs.

Thanks for all the help, I did not have the time today to check ,the pick up coil, since we all got to work. I do get 12v on the ignition coil. I now have to check the resistance of the pick up coil, since is the only thing left to change new on the system. I ll post in the morning and see how it goes. But thanks to everybody that has taken their time to reply.

Damn you PICK UP COIL!!!!
I finally got her running. When I checked the resistance on the pick up coil there was nothing. So I removed the dizzy and I also found part of the metal was missing and it was corroded. So I just bought a reman dizzy. Started right up. Now,,,, before we kill this thread, what would be the timing that can give me more Zoom Zoom, The base for my type is 6 Deg BTC. 1991 305 TPI. Thanks to everybody.

Experiment with it. I'd say try 10 degrees, and check for knock under load. Do TPIs run on premium? If not you can run higher octane to take care of knock, but I wouldn't. Why spend extra money? Try less if it knocks and more if not.
