cars' too low... help
alright.. im a noob when it comes to everything with my car, but ive seen people change oil and i know i can do it easily. i talked to guys at an autozone near me and they explained everything. easy. but i have a problem, the ground effects on my camaro make it impossible to drive up some metal or plastic ramps. i was just wondering what some of you do/would do. i was thinking about jacking it up and placing the ramps under one side at a time, but i have a feeling that might not be safe? iunno.. maybe just buying two jacks and using that to keep it up.. i just need some inexpensive help.

You probably won't be able to jack it up high enough to get the ramps under your car because of suspension travel but if you can that would work.
I suggest getting some jackstands to support your vehicle after jacking it up
That's how I do mine.
Please DO NOT use 2 jacks to support it, always use jackstands, if your jacks give way there is no room under there and it will cause serious injury!
The 2x4s will also work but make sure your ramps are good and can support the weight. About a year ago my brother was changing oil in my mom's car and one of the ramps gave way just as he was getting out of the car, It did a bit of damage but luckily he wasn't under there.

I have done it both ways. The easiest way is to use the 2x4s but since my car dosent run right now i have to use a floorjack to lift the front up enough to get the ramps under the front tires. As mentioned earlier you have to lift the car prety high because of suspension travel to get the ramps under there but it can be done.

I got some 2X6's about 3ft long, and drilled a hole through the center at one end - I place this end on my ramps about 1/2 way up, and drop a big bolt through the board and holes in the ramps - this extends the ramp and lowers the angle - the bolt keeps them from slipping dow, or the ramp slipping out.
I just put some long pieces of wood up to my ramps, and I place a pair of spare brake drums under the wood pieces so they dont break. Also when I get my car on the ramps I take some quality rope and tie the rims of the tires to the ramps just in case the tires aren't completely lined up so it doesnt start to roll back.

I remember buying some ramps a few years ago that cleared the ground effects on the '91 TA I had. They were plastic, and they had a shorter, more gradual slope to them. Might have been Rhino Ramps. Got them at Autozone.
