what does the INFL REST light mean? i was driving today, went to get on it a little and had no throttle response, pulled in my driveway, car died, battary guage was on dead, car wouldnt restart, waited ten minutes and went to try it again, it restarted, but i had to have my foot to the floor for it to "catch" finally and rev normal, the car died again 3 minutes later anyone have an idea what it is? thought of alternator, but the car restarted, wasnt dead, thought fuel pump, but same thing, distributor maybe? i need help, no SES, just the INFL REST light

SES comes on once the car stalls, so its not burnt out

wow there is no fast way to get there hour and 45 min easy
well have you checked the +/- battery cables at the motor and battery? sounds like a loose wire to me where you are seeing a dead battery on the gauge. when it dies what does it sound like? what does it do does it start to idle lower and lower or does it just quit or does it rev up?

it cranks, catches, then kind of sputers and dies, if i stick the gas pedal to the floor, it will run, but only for like 4 minutes

okay well i would say you need to check fuel preassure and flow then check spark for good measure... you want a nice blue spark make sure you get a good ground or use a spark tester

btw when did you replace the fuel filter? have you adjusted timing at all?

well i would say change the filter first as that is like 10 bucks and about 15mins worth of work compared to the fuel pump where it will probably take you all day with the right tools but def. change the fuel filter and give it a try
