Car won't start after working on it.

Hello, Im just getting into cars so I'm not very good at troubleshooting problems yet. I did a diverter valve delete, plugged the Y pipe and connected the two tubes that are back at the firewall together. I also installed new valve covers. I undid the spark plug wires boot from the distributor on the passanger side to work but when I was finished it started to drizzle. By then I was finished and plugged the boots back into the distributor and put the ground back on the battery. When I go to start the car now it just click once and then completely dies, no lights or ignition what-so-ever. I went to close my hood and when I did the alarm went off and I get all my lights back. I go to turn the ignition back on, and the same thing lights and all power goes back out until i slam the hood. Please help I have class again on monday.

you have a bad ground connection at the battery ensure all connections are very snug

It's something electrical obviously, VATS comes to mind. Try checking to see if you arc'd something maybe the ignition coil and re-check all ground connections, clean them if they need cleaning it will make a difference.

thank you for such the quick replys I will recheck everything in the morning, the one bolt I know i did not tighten very well because the new valve covers got in the way was the tube going from the throttle body to the master brake cylinder. I didnt tighten the bolt that helps it run down the intake manifold. Thanks again for the help Ill check all bolts and ground tomorrow

not y pipe as in exhaust y pipe. there is a y tube(i guess would be a more clear way of saying it ) that runs from the radiator to the firewall and a tube that comes off of that tube and gos up to the top of the valve covers were the other tubes are.

Edit: on second thought its more of a T
