Neutral safety switch

Hi
I think I have a faulty neutral safety switch on my 91 formula 305TPI. Where is that located? I don't think that it will be that hard to replace, only if I knew where it is?
Thanks, any help will be much appreciated.

Re: Neutral safety switch

It's right on top of the clutch pedal assembly. It's a large black rectangular push button type switch with thick wires going to it, yellow and another color, if I remember correctly.

Re: Neutral safety switch

How does the clutch engage it then if it is in the shifter area?

Re: Neutral safety switch

haha well guess he has a manual trans then

in that case its a clutch safety start switch, not a neutral safety switch

and usually its on the clutch pedal linkage under the dash, or on the tranny(possibly but probably unlikely in these cars)

Re: Neutral safety switch

jumper the yellow and purple wires together, they are larger wires, stranded copper, under the dash near the pedals, single connecter, two spades
