someone stop me !!!!!
I am about to rip my SLP headers off my car and put my manifolds back on if i can't figure out a way to stop #8 spark plug wire from buring!!
Does anyone know if they make a shorter spark plug?? Right now i have the AC Delco R45TS ones and no matter how many heat proof wire shields i use it just keeps burning the boot and causing a miss!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: someone stop me !!!!!
Accel makes a shortie plug. There's also a cross reference attachment somewhere on the boards. If the search function still isn't working just use the google search option for 3rd gen.

Re: someone stop me !!!!!
I have SLP 1¾" headers on my car; AC Delco Rapid-Fire plugs; Taylor Spiro-Pro wires; no problems of that kind. Or any other kind, for that matter.

Re: someone stop me !!!!!
taylor spiro pro wires rock. i use them with my edlebrock tes headers no issue, nonwhat so-ever. also you should get valve cover style wire looms. summit sells them, they are by "made for you" products, they are 40 bucks and well worth it.

Re: someone stop me !!!!!
I don't have a problem with the wires burning at all just the 90 degree spark plug end for #8 cylinder. Two of the header tubes are too close to the end of the spark plug and that is why it's burrning it and causing an engine miss.

Re: someone stop me !!!!!
you need to have your headers ceramic coated. i have the same headers you do and they are Jet-hotted. i hvae no problems. i am using accel shorty plugs, but have run delcos in the past without issue, when it comes time to replace these accels i will use delcos again. the accells are not worth it IMHO.

Re: someone stop me !!!!!
That is an easy fix. Summit carries Accel header plugs that are shorter and you can use different plug wire ends to connect to the plugs. Also, there is a heat wrap you can get for your plug wires to protect them after you do the 2 prevoius things mentioned here. I wish everything was this easy to fix!

Yup, I have the same headers and had the same problem. When I installed my Accel 300+ wires I put the pass side wires under the headers like the drivers side and installed NGK UR-5 shorty plugs.

Re: someone stop me !!!!!
To get that #8 spark plug in or out i do it from underneath the car. I use a 5/8 box wrench and it goes in as easilly as it comes out. The suggestion of using the accell shorty plugs was the ultimate fix for ease of installation and stopping my boots from burning.
