Hi Everyone,
I'm getting ready to build a non-roller 383. Does anyone knows if my L98 timing cover and Cloyes True Double-Roller timing chain will fit ok on the 383?

Will the chain itself not fit or will the holes not line up correctly?

The chain may not fit.
It may rub on various of the little bolt bosses. They are often larger than in earlier blocks; the edge of the chain rubs on them.
It's really not a big deal, people do it all the time.

I was thinking that the L98 roller cam timing sprocket wouldn't fit a non roller cam, but I suppose you could get a non roller cam with the right nose on it.

Well yeah, there is that; a roller timing set won't fit a non-roller cam.
Kind of hard to tell what we're mixing and matching here.
