flaring fuel lines
what is probably the best flare to use on a stock metal fuel line? I cut my stock metal fuel lines back by the firewall so I can flare them and adapt to AN braided steel fuel line so I can just run it up behind the engine along the firewall to the fuel rails of my engine. No reason to have them come up from the front drivers side like it does stock with a completely aftermarket efi engine.
I am looking for a much cleaner look.
I could do inverted flare like I did to my brake lines perhaps?

Re: flaring fuel lines
If you're using AN fittings, it makes more sense to use an AN flare.

Re: flaring fuel lines
Sucks the search is broken right now.
Did not know a tube flare tool for AN fittings existed. I am not having any luck finding it on summit unless its one of the 37 or 45 degree ones. What kind of tube bushing would I use?

Re: flaring fuel lines
for the nut and sleeve, since its only AN sizes of coarse, Should I run a -6 and an -8?
or am I mistaken on which nut is going to fit my stock lines which are 3/8 and 5/16 I believe.
also, I am looking at the sleeves, where the heck do they go?

The stock lines are 3/8" and 5/16", so you'd use -6 and -5.
The sleeve supports the back side of the flare. The nut goes on the tube, then the sleeve, then the line is flared and the sleeve and nut are pushed up to the end.

Re: flaring fuel lines
they also make compression type AN adapters that dont need flaring. only for 3/8 and 1/2 line though
