aight i have an 88 iroc-z 350 tpi,when i come to a stop it just cut off like u turn the ignition off..i check the fuel pressure 40psi,think it would be the TPS acting up??

 

Just did this once? Or, happens often?

Doubt it's the TPS. More than likely you've got a loose or otherwise poor electrical connection in the ignition circuit.

 

it happens almost everytime when ever i come to a full stop,its just dies but will fire right back up and run perfect..

i check the tps it was off a bit so i reset it to 0.54 i think that where it should be..but it still does it

if its a die like you shut they key off id take five7kid's opinion and trace your elecrical to look for any issues, and if i'm understanding your prolbem rights its an all at once die? no rev down like its choking for fuel?

 

Vac leak or maybe the idle is set too low, even lower in gear

 

yep just died no rev drop or nothing just cut off,but fires right back up and dont have any problem until i come to a complete stop strange huh?lol

the electrical should be fine but i check it tomorrow..

as in 4000!? Please tell me it's off kilter lol I'd start looking for loose wires and/or bad grounds if it sound like an electrical problem

 

yeah as in 4000 and yea its way off lol...

aight im going to check any loose wiring and stuff...

 

this used to happen to me and the fix was in the MAF conector

just get a really small flathead screwdriver and bend the top of the female clips down a hair. put some dielectric grease on it and test it out

I was not even getting a check engine light.

your MAF sensor might be getting weak. there are many ways to check it so do a search or get a helms manual

 

i check the wiring seems to be good,while i was going to work it did it again,cut off at a stop sign, crank it back up then it seems to be misfiring so i give it a rev or 2 and it cleared out..

so pretty much i think its in my ignition...

 

This happened to me once when I stopped at an intersection. I've since redone the ground wiring for all critical electrical components in the engine bay and I haven't had it happen again.

 

umm i have to do that then and see what happens..oh btw i guess it only does it when the engine is hot.

 

ive been having the same problems with mine doing the same thing. but mine was here and there. it would go a couple weeks and be fine then boom it would die when i come to a stop but it would start right back up. then it would wait a few days or a week and do it again. i cleaned my idler air control and i havent had the problem come up again. when i had it happen i asked a family member and he said it was either the TPS or the IAC.

 

well i check and readjusted the TPS seem to be fine,but i will check the IAC
