Tune-Up Issues!

I was doing a simple tune up and took the cap and rotor off and the distributor was rusty, is that a problem?, also when i put the new cap and rotor on there was a ticking/clicking coming from it, i removed the cap and rotor and could not find the problem, what could this sound be?

Re: Tune-Up Issues!

yes, we also checked the cap, the rotor was rubbing up against the top of the cap the first time, we fixed that. the rotor wasnt pushed all the way down, but after fixing that, it still did it.
