350 balancer on a 305? possible?
good question, and i need to know to try to save some money, i have a 305, and used to have a 350, sold the 350 and still have the balancer and the pulley, well im using the 305 that i broke the balancer getting it off
, so in the process of saving like 90.00 that can be used in upgrades, im asking the wonderful 3rd gen community, will the 350 balancer work on my 305?
in advance!!!

the 305 and the 350 use the same damper, all that changes is what diameter and what timing position are you wanting to use. If you are using the stock timing cover, the timing tab is welded close to a 12 o'clock position, whereas an aftermarket cover and pointer is usually in the 1:30-2 o'clock area.

'87 f-bodies went back to the 2 o'clock timing tab. I don't know about the g-bodies, but I'd guess they did as well.
Look at the keyway in the hub of the damper - is the timing mark pretty much lined up with it, or to the left of the keyway? Lined up = 2 o'clock, to the left = 12 o'clock.

Re: 350 balancer on a 305? possible?
one more thing, can i use my 350 pulley for the 305 and not throw anything off?
plus i kno everyone has or had a 700r4, can anyone help me with some hook up problems. i have the 4 prong electrical connector on it, i have the shifter cable under controll, all installed, but the trans lines, and anything else i missed, please help me, i didnt take this trans out, it came out of the car and i have never messed with a 700, so where do those lines go to/come from.
and the accessory pully, i think its called, what is the purpose, i have one off a 350 that came with my car, it has one hose coming off it, and no plugs or nothing, what is that for?
thank you guys in advance!!!
