El Dorado,Holy grail,Atlantis,Fountain of youth

Not long ago I bought an 89 FORMULA. Big deal huh?Well the only reason I bought it is one I like firebirds, ergo the name(ha ha)and two it apears for all intents and purposes seems to have a 91 350 TPI out of a vette in it.As of yet I have not been able to look at the backof the block. but it does have an aluminium plentum extention on it and the TPS is a non-adjustible one (Shouldnt be on an 89)Just kind of excite about it. Hope I'm not disapointed

No aluminum heads. I have a "Corvette little black book" has all the production and casting number, engine spec's etc.I just need to get to the numbers on the block. Some one added an airfoil in the throtle body and put a plate on top of it that says (get this) LT1 300HP. Now I know it is NOT AN LT1 but you never know what someone else did. perhaps it is a vette engine If I can get home in the daylight I'll mess with it see what I can find out

The block would be a generic 350 roller cam block... '638' I believe. Same as the Camaro and Trans Am used, and basically everything else with a 350 from that era. Corvette, stock, would have come with 4-bolt mains, steel crank, and aluminum cylinder heads (casting '113'). Since those heads have no EGR passage, the EGR plumbing was routed externally with a pipe from the exhaust manifold to the intake manifold.

Well, take a gamble, win some, lose some. or usualy with me .........its loose. But anyway. Looked at back of block and seems to be a 305. Ok so I over paid. I'll make it back some how.and yes the casting numbers on those heads (Vette in 91) where 113(but not my heads)

What castings are the heads? Some of those 305 heads make a fantastic upgrade for a 350...
