Car won't start
hello i have a 1986 trans am i just replaced the starter and alternator and still doesn't want to start up no indication on the gauges but the lights in the car work but nothing else doe's anybody have any suggestions?

Did you hook up all the wires to the fat terminal on the starter? There are three or four of them......

yes i have all the connections on correctly today i tried changing the power cable wire and ground cable wire from the battery to the alternator and still nothing.

Is your car cranking at all? If its cranking and won't fire, your fuel pump might not be sending any gas to the fuel rails. I'm having the same problem on my Z28 and so far im still trying to diagnose the problem. It might be electrical or my fuel pump may have taken a $#@!.. Hopefully not..

only the lights inside the care turn on when i try to start the car nothing happens no crank and gauges don't turn on

Sounds like you might have missed one of the power feeds at the starter motor, or, one of the fusible links died.

i checked all the fuse's on the car none of them are blown i double checked the connections on the starter
