That is not the condenser, that’s the accumulator.

You want a cap.

If I remember correctly, you need a ¾-16 NPT.

Happy Racing!

Re: removing AC, help please

are you removing the accumulator completly?? if not then cap.
If so you can get a a/c delete plate made for the 1le cars. I have seen a few of them on ebay. You can also get the idler pulley that goes in place of the a/c pump as well.

Re: removing AC, help please

i didnt even cap mine when i removed it. and you dont need a pulley if its a separate belt for the ac. heres one of the best pics of mine. i run a v-belt. and if thats whats on your ac then all you gotta do is just pull it.

Re: removing AC, help please

ya i used the stock bracket but i had to cut it where the ac is supposed to bolt, then in put a bolt in the hole where it bolts to the ps bracket and it works fine.

Re: removing AC, help please

If you think that sometime down the road you may get your A/C up and running again, or for resale value, cap off all your parts well
You do not want any excess air/moisture getting into the future re-usable parts
It will render them useless

Re: removing AC, help please

thanks greg i would have never thought about that, i do wanna use the ac in the future just dont need it now cause i dont ever drive it and ill prolly only drive it a few times to the track and back in the summer, besides it rarely ever gets over 90* here i can always roll down the windows lol i like the room that it gave me in the engine bay its all out im gonna get to the store today and get caps for everything i think ill just get another stock bracket and mod that one to work with my headers so i still have the one that mounts the AC thanks for all the info guys

Re: removing AC, help please

Too bad I didn't catch this post before you removed your lines. 'The' sensitive piece in your system is the Receiver/Dryer, that big shiny can in your pic with the pressure switch on it. The can is full of dessicant and absorbes any moisture in your system.
It's OK though..if it's ruined they're not that much $. Consider replacing it new if you ever hook it all back up again.

And for now you can just use 2-60 Air Conditioning
2 windows open @ 60 MPH

Re: removing AC, help please

thanks again greg, i think ill use 2-120 though should work better, seeing how the headliner is gone from previous use of said AC i think there will be less colateral damage this time around
