putting AC back into a Camaro

Hey guys so i just got a 1986 Iroc a few days ago and it has a 350 TPI swapped into it but the guy who put it in didn't put the AC back in. all the post i can find about Air Conditioning are how to take them out, but i like driving in comfort. anyways my question is where did the compressor sit? their is a space on the lower passenger side of the engine where something was mounted but not sure if it was AC or EGR pump. right under my alternator but i thought i found some pictures where a compressor was sitting where my alternator is. anyways any help would be appreciated i will try to go take some pictures of what i am talking about real soon and get them up. i hope this is the right form to post this in. sorry if its not.

Re: putting AC back into a Camaro

Can't swear as to its location for yours, but my AC components are all on the passenger side of the motor. I'm pulling them out either today or tomorrow, because I've got my 4th Gen for a "comfortable" car...lol.

Re: putting AC back into a Camaro

so i took some pictures but i cant seem to upload them off my comp. but their is a place on the driver side and passenger side where you could mount something i am just not sure which one is for the AC i think it is most likely the passenger side under the alternator so that the lines from the condenser and canister wouldn't have to go across to the other side of the motor

On my 86 TA my AC compressor was on the drivers side. Looks like yours was also on the drivers side.

Is yours TPI? If so then it is in the correct area. Make sure you still have the correct blower motor setup and it hasn't been replaced with a ac delete one. Compare your driver side firewall to my pass side to see if the hook ups are still there.
