sticking throttle?
OK, I have a 91' 350 tpi. I want some opinions on this issue. My throttle has been sticking now for a few months. So, a while back I installed a return spring on the stock throttle body. Ok, so everything fine for almost a year now. The other day the throttle started sticking again. Car can idle by itself in drive and go 25 mph. So, i need to know this: Is it a bad throttle body or just a bad accelerator cable? Someone please let me know. Thnks again

Re: sticking throttle?
the throttle cable tends to fray at the ends and not in the tube check for carbon build-up in the throttle body spray it down with cleaner and see if that frees it up if not than it is more than likely the TB.

Re: sticking throttle?
Are you positive the throttle is sticking? When the engine revs high like you say, pull the car over and look at the throttle. If it's actually off the idle screw, then yes, replace the throttle cable. If it's not, then it's your IAC. These are the exact symptoms I had when my IAC went bad.

Re: sticking throttle?
Hey man, you say the Iac valve? Isn't there a way to reset it or set it? How can I test it to be sure? I have a voltmeter. I went out today and greased the throttle body up, on the spring looking part of course that hold the butterfly that the cables connect to. I even shortened the return spring that I have been using now for a few months. Still no go. Let me know what you think.
