Any help would be greatly appreciated...

So engine runs strong and powerful, shifting all the gears... up in 5th... I have to slow down for a light that is coming up, so I go from 5th to neutral and the engine shuts off...

Car starts right up at the light... Sometimes at the light, same thing... with the AC on, even harder time staying running...

Optoma Yellow top battery, new power and ground, hooker 2055 headers with air tubes, new o2 sensor, 3" exhaust, new msd cap rotor and wires, new spark plugs, etc...

I did put in a Brian Harris Chip this weekend with a lower thermostat, but it was doing this problem before and still doing it... If anything, it seems to be idling better than before the chip...

Any ideas or suggestions?

Was the car 5 spd originally?

Also, does your speedometer work?

I'm in the process of converting over to a KR replica, and I need the speedo for the ECM...

Again, but it's been doing it for a while, before I began changing stuff....

 

I'm not sure then - My car has the same issue but it's caused by the fact that my VSS isn't hooked up.

BTW: If you're doing a KR conversion and want to sell your front bumper, I'm interested - I need one and my car is black, too!

 

Yes, the speedo has worked throughout... I have a data logger (not moates), but my laptop battery died and I don't have an extension cord long enough for a long run

I sold the bumper a few years ago, sorry...

Clean your throttle body. The IAC manages about 40% of idle air. The other 60% passes by the throttle blades. If they become coked, and they do over time, the IAC is then expected to handle 100% of idle air which is doesn't do very well. Sudden release of the throttle, with coked thottle bores, will cause engine speed to dip below idle and often cause stalling. To clean throttle, use TB cleaner and a course rag and 3/4" bore brush. Spray cleaner in throttle to saturate deposits. Use brush to scrub surface while holding throttle open. Use rage to wipe out loosened deposits. Repeat process until thottles are clean.

If probelm persists after throttle cleaning, check EGR for sticking or slow closing(broken spring? sticky EGR solenoid?). Check IAC for deposits and clean as necessary.

say i have the same problem ,,,throttle body is clean an it still doing it....

 

Cleaned throttle body, running better, but still doing it too... will check egr next...
