got some problems help pls

1) my car seems to only like to overheat while in traffic . why is that ive replaced everything but the radiator. i got a new theromstat it still did it then i got a lower temp thermostat and it still does it. what could it be?
2)my car has good oil pressure when it first starts up but when it gets warm it starts to drop.
3) my turn signal lights are acting up if i put the tur signal on only the front bumper and rear turn signal light only turn on. the side marker lights dont seem to want to work. but if i turn on the 4 ways the front bumper lights wont blink but the side marker and rear will. ive replaced all the bulbs and i got a new light wiring harness just havent put it in yet. what could it be?

Could be a clue.

But first - if it's cooling ok when driving freely, and overheating when in traffic, implies it's an airflow problem at low speeds. Ie, are the fan/fans working, and actually turning on when appropriate? Are you using a good quality (ie not the cheapest) coolant? Is there air in the system? Is the thermostat actually opening? Is the rad full of gunk?

Oil gauge - so long as it reads about 10-ish at idle, and goes up toward full scale when revved, sounds good. Stock gauge can be inaccurate by all accounts, but should at least behave like this.

Blinkers - been a while since I was in there (column), but from memory in my 86, the hazard switch uses a seperate set of contacts paralleled across the blinker contacts - might be something up with that assembly. Should get the circuit and troubleshoot with a meter.

My oil pressure was very low and worried me it was 10 ish 4 months ago I put a new oil pressure sensor and when cold at idle it is about 55 hot at idle just above 30. Try a sensor and see where the pressure is.

Re: got some problems help pls

My dash gauge is always pegged max for the first 5 mins or so form cold, regardless of rpm. Then it drops down and starts behaving normally, with idle pressure at about 30. As the oil heats up, idle pressure drops to about 15. On a really hot day, it can drop down scary low, in the red.

A different gauge hooked up to the same sender doesn't have the 'pegged' behaviour when fully cold, and doesn't drop as low when hot. So I don't really pay too much attention to the absolute 'reading' of the dash gauge, just it's behaviour once warmed up.

Always figured if it's not knocking, it must have oil pressure, despite the redline.

Yep, air dam needs to be there and angled toward the front, so air is forced up to the rad. Mainly effective at speed, less in traffic.
