Cant find new cold air Intake for 92 RS. Why?
Why cant I find a new cold air intake system for my 92 RS 5.0 Camaro? I need a large and round K&N Style intake system, but it seems no one has a newer style replacement configuration. WHY!?

I'm sure it also has something to do with supply/demand and since there isn't much demand..........
just get an open element air cleaner and be done with it. They are much prettier anyway

Ah that makes sence. Prob. cheaper to do it that way anyway. And it does look so pretty. Very classic

build your own; carb hat, silicone adapters, and aluminum tubing. cost you a lot less than your typical K&N kit and you can fit it how ever you'd like

Don't go open element air cleaner. You'll be sucking in more hot air and lose perfomance. Grey Goose on here in our So. Cal. third gen group has a cool air cleaner set up for his TBI.

the kit was on ebay ad for 88-94 chevy/gmc v-8 trucks. i then got the chrome flex hose and routed it to the cone airfilter at the driver side attery tray area. the idea was to cut a hole and drop it in there.
i went back to an open element for now and soon its going tpi. but its another basic cold air kit..

Nice. That looks good. I know I live in Texas and it's been like 104 these past couple of days. I dont need to be sucking in more hot air haha. I know one of the main reasons the 92 RS and most other third gen Camaros were so low horse power was because of over all air flow. The engine just wasn't set up to breath well. I figure if I get a beter cold a better cold air induction, A GM performance throttle body, some shorty style Hooker headers, and if I build the exhaust back with true dual exhaust and turbo style mufflers, I would be producing alot more power, with alot less strain on the engine, for a reasonably low price.

you can mess with building a CAI but you aren't going to get the benefits that you do with an LT or LS engine. Our engines fall on their faces because of cam, terrible heads and exhaust.
You can help a bunch with shortys and more air be it open element air or using duct work from a clothes dryer. At the end of the day, the heads and cam are what they are and can only flow so much. I wouldn't waste a dime on the injectors or intake manifold.
