[QUOTE=Atilla the Fun;5316020]Seriously? Double springs, just like that? Look, get headers and a 3" cat-back to begin with. Then a Stealth Ram, an LT1 cam, and some 3.73:1 gears. Going carbureted isn't going to be any cheaper short-term, is going to hurt driveability, MPG and emissions, and just changing what you listed won't gain you much.[/QUOT
you may be right... I like the idea of a tpi car but i seriously have never owned a fuel injected street car and i may be dumb sounding but the tpi is very limiting???? Right i may be wayyyyy wrong... My last iroc was a cage car with the 406 i got im my garage and it ran low 11s... Im shy heads and a new rotating assy. Thats what my goal is! Ive had this car for like a week and im gettin antsy is all!

Other than the basic first upgrades ( a better free flowing exhaust, etc.) I say if you don't have a Posi.(LSD) or a locker with a decent gear ratio of 3.42 auto,or 3.73 manual than that would be my first concern.Look at it this way, anything you do to improve your differential is beneficial to any engine you put in front of it. Not only that but coming of the line with a one wheel peal is down right embarrassing, especially in front of a mustang.

Re: throwing the idea around for more power
Thanks,
It took me over a year to save for a 28 spline Eaton Posi,28 spline axles, 3.42 ring and pinion, and the LPW ultimate support cover with the Master kit and axle seals and bearings.Thats going the road less traveled, not allot of guys use new parts and pull a 4th gen. rear or something along those lines.Any way I'm lucky and have a shop here in town called "The Rear End Shop" that has over 20 years in the business so I did not have to look very far for a shop to do the install. I don't know what your running in you rear now but if its anything like what I had (a open differential with 2.73s ) your going to be amazed at what a difference the change is.It takes the power you have and plants it to the ground. If you go that route and use a solid spacer instead of the crush sleeve and have the axle tubs welded you will have what is considered on this site to be a "Ultimate 10 Bolt".
Keep in mind that its still a 10 bolt and even though there are a few here the have and are using it with the higher horsepower engines there usually doing it with street grade tires that aren't as hard on it. If your intentions are to hook hard with sticky tires your better off with a 9" or a 12 bolt.

Re: throwing the idea around for more power
my plans are gonna take a while too! mine is deff posi... Other than that i think ive had the car a week!lol ive been wanting a carbed 6.0 for quite a while now and probably just do it! Im pretty carb savy and some guys on here think thats a bad idea but as far as tbi we are so damn limited... Besides who doesnt want a LS in the hot rod!?haha and before i get my motor done sub- frame connectors, tube k-member A-arms gears and maybe a spool! Im planning on dumping about 6k on it... For those guys about to bust my sack about the "spool" keep in mind i am building my car to run quarters and go to the local car show not a cross country 13.99 sec. turd...

Re: throwing the idea around for more power
Well since you are going to, if not all ready have a spool then most of the info. I posted above is irrelevant. Keep us up to date on your project .
