Have not done track runs or dyno pulls yet. That's coming up next. Right before I put the car to bed for the winter I finished up the tune using an EBL flash.

Idle is all perfect and cleaned up. Around 12 - 12.5:1 at 850rpm. Any leaner it would start surging. Initial timing is at 25*, WOT AFR is all high 12s, with a 2* timing dip and slight enrichment around peak torque (4000 - 4400RPM. I can tell by looking at the volumetric efficiency tables) to control detonation. 36* total timing all in by 2800. Car can be daily driven in its current state. Plugs look healthy and pulls 15MPG combined mileage through a 700R4 and 3.73s

Pulls strong to 6000RPM. Highest I've revved it so far was (accidentally) 6900. Didn't bat an eye.

Let me get home in front of an actual computer and I'll post some more photos and a video (or two) of it running.

Re: Project MightyMouse, Codenamed LB4: The Forbidden Motor

Here's some videos as promised.

First start video. This is technically the second start. The first time I fired it was the night before. It ran terrible and died if you didn't hold your foot in the gas. A bit of scaling to the VE, adjustment of the throttle stop screen and some more advance at the dizzy and voila!

Here's a video of me toying around of with the idle part of the tune, trying to get it as smooth as possible.

Quick run through first and second gear just goofing around and in the beginning stages of tuning WOT. This is when the tune was still, very young and had a 5000rpm Rev limiter in place. Thing got sideways quick on the launch.

Now that the tune is done, I'm finishing up some winter maintenance and hoping to get some dyno and track numbers in the next month or two.

Me to. This motor is a solid little bastard. Pulls well to 6000rpm.higjest I've spun it so far was (Accidentally) 6900rpm. Didn't bat an eye. The data log showed the duty cycle on the injectors drop to 0% so the ECM behaved exactly like it should have.

I'm now considering retarding the cam (I installed it with a 4* advance because when I degreed it, it was already retarded 2.5* from the intended centerline out of the gate without ever having been fired) by 4* and switching the plenum/runner set out for a superram to get better power numbers.

The base manifold and throttlebody I used were from a superram already so now I just have to hunt down a plenum/runner set.

Re: Project MightyMouse, Codenamed LB4: The Forbidden Motor

Well ive been reading retarding the cam just makes less power - not move the pwr to higer rpm. There is an optimum amount of cam intake CL adv and u can add to much adv. But retarding the cam doesnt move the pwr band as expected i think u will find. Better to install a cam w/wider LSA to spread the pwr band and reduce the torque peak making it less punchy. Smoother idle to.

I really liked how u siamesed and ported the TPI runners, those look pretty effective though i think there was a short length of runner left untouched. I really feel a super ram would be a step back from what u have now. Good luck with finding a super ram larger runner/plenum set. I pretty much gave up on finding a Super Ram for my 4th gen. Most super rams i can find have already been hogged out by mostly amateurs. I dont think Edelbrock still markets intakes for TPI anymore. I know FIRST has some big parts. And there is always the Holley Stealth Ram. But the longer runners of the TPI is the secret to getting the pwr out of smaller c.i. of the 305"/331" small block. I really like your TPI with shorter exh headers to fill those cyl and spread the pwr band.

Please keep us updated.
