So i got to change my oil pan gasket (1-peice) on the iroc and the rear main seal ( 2-peice)
Just wanted to make sure i didnt fk anything up. but i disconected the crossover pipe at both manifolds, took the diz off, dust pan, starter, and the engine mount bolts. now am gona jack it with a block of wood on the oil pan. but the only thing i was wondering was (do any of you take out the trans mount bolt), cause wouldnt that sht be lock into place as i jack the engine up.
but other than that any of yall got any tips or tricks for this job ?

The transmission mount is flexible enough to allow several inches of lift on the engine.

You wont be able to get the pan completely out but enough to get the job done.
Well. Do you think they will be enough room for me to do the rear main seal. If not. Couldnt i just drop the trans and get more clearence to take the oil pan out?
??????????????????????

Did your keyboard get stuck? You will have room to drop the rear main cap and change the seal.

You have a 1 piece pan gasket and a 2 piece rear seal?
Or your replacing your multi part pan gasket with a 1piece gasket?

You can get the pan out if you know exactly what you are doing! It takes some work but if you get it just right itll slide right out but it takes some work! Just be prepared!

I had problems keeping the pan rails sealed until I did that.
Its a big job but not hard. good luck

I just replaced a leaking 2-piece seal, already had a 1-piece pan gasket
My 2 cents:
I use anarobic gasket maker instead of RTV for the bearing cap, in cold weather the Surface Prep Activator is a must, if you don't have a heated garage.
Let it set for a several hours so the most of the oil drains into the pan.
Remove the bolt that connects the trans mount to the trans cross member. You may have to rotate crank as you pull the pan out past the engine cross member.
