But on the front passenger side pad there is no serial number or sequence numbers so it has to be aftermarket right?

The pistons are flattop 4 valve relief and they have like a bubble cross design in the center

Re: 350 question
If it has the standard size pistons in it theres a good chance its probly just a regular gm roller block. Doesnt always happen that way but theres a pretty good chance thats what it is.

Re: 350 question
Probably has been "rebuilt", and the numbers were decked off of it.
Doesn't too much matter what ENGINE used to be built out of that BLOCK; whatever it is now, is what it is. Whatever is used to be part of, is GONE forever.
It's a late-model block, has the roller casting stuff in it; who knows what whoever "rebuilt" it put back in it though.
If you want to know what it IS NOW, gotta look at the parts. Flat-tops w 4 valve reliefs is a good start. Measure the bore and see how far it was bored; measure the deck height and see how far "down in the hole" the pistons are at RDC; identify the crank and the rods; identify the cam that's in it (if any); see if the roller appartus is actually present; go from there. Whatever "numbers" the block might have had on it, won't tell you A DAMN THING about what any of that stuff is.

Re: 350 question
I agree. Unless you bought a new crate motor from a catalog or from someone you trust you don't really know whats are in it. What it started as isn't much good right now.
Block id is good for looking at stuff in the Junkyard or getting an idea if a block might work for you combo. It's not going to tell you if someone put a bore on it, swapped parts, sized the bearings because one spun at some point, decked the block, or etc.
If you really want to know what is in it you need to dig deeper and measure things.
